Welcome to Ogston Sailing Club Set in the heart of the country on the South Yorkshire / Derbyshire border, approximately half way between Sheffield and Derby, Ogston Sailing Club offers racing and sail training on 180 acres of water in a beautiful location.
For over 40 years the club has been training our members to sail and see them go on to success competing at events both Nationally and Internationally, as well as enjoying an exciting club race programme and social calendar. If you've found this website you are either interested in learning how to sail and joining the club, or are an existing sailor looking to join us or visit us for an open meeting. Our open meeting information and directions to help you find the club can be found on the menu to the left. For people looking to join the club and learn to sail, we offer Royal Yachting Association (RYA) accredited Level 1 & 2 sail training courses for adults and children, and offer Powerboat courses up to instructor level. Once the sailing bug has got you it is not unknown for people to progress to teaching other new members in their turn, if you enjoy working with people and like to pass on skills and knowledge then the club also runs Dinghy Instructor courses to help you do this. Sailing is both a hobby and a sport, and whilst the rules of sailing can seem complex at first, the club is committed to help new members take up racing with a minimum of fuss and kerfuffle. Along side the Learn to Sail course we offer informal race training, a novice race series and help and support to ensure that your new hobby remains an enjoyable experience. Next Events
